Wind chills of 20 degrees below zero are forecast for Sunday night. O'Hare Airport records 4.4 inches of snow. Temps will rise to the upper teens early in the week, and no precipitation is in the forecast.

As a storm system departs the Chicago area, another blast of Arctic air will send wind chills plummeting overnight and into Monday.

The Chicago area will be under an Extreme Cold Warning on Friday. Local officials are warning residents to be ready for the brutal cold.

A blast of cold air is on its way to the Chicago area later this week, after some more snow is expected Wednesday.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for much of Chicagoland for the majority of the day Sunday, followed by a Cold Weather Advisory overnight Sunday into Monday morning, with wind-chill values early Monday in the minus-20 to minus-25 range.

Chicago weather Friday will be severe enough that an Extreme Cold Watch has been issued for the entire area starting overnight, and frostbite could take hold in minutes.

Meteorologists are expecting 45 to 55 mph winds overnight into Monday in the Chicago area. Temps could also drop overnight into the teens with subzero wind chills. Snow showers accumulating up to an inch are also possible early Monday.
